Realflow 5

Hey..; found it in Realflow Forum.. thought I'd share the news here as well.. From Siggraph 2009..

NEW Hybrid Based Fluids Solver
This NEW solver will allow you to simulate medium- to large-scale fluids. In the core is a grid-based solver that automatically detects those areas where more resolution is needed, and creates particles that will then be simulated using our standard particle-based solver. Additional details like foam or mist, and even displacement maps, can be created as well.

Particle-Based Fluids up to 20 times faster
In comparison with RealFlow 4, RealFlow5 can perform considerable faster when using the particle-based solver - particularly for sparse particle distribution.

NEW Job Manager and IDOC concept
IDOC stands for Independent Domain of Computation. In conjunction with the new Job Manager, this new feature will help you to choose non-interacting areas of your scene to simulate on individual machines in a render farm with just a couple of mouse clicks.

NEW Rigid and Soft Body Dynamics Engine
The Rigid and Soft Body Dynamics Engine has been rebuilt from scratch. This new engine is fully multithreaded, and its level of physical accuracy and the number of elements you will be able to handle are outstanding.

NEW C++ SDK
With the same functions as Python Scripting for RealFlow, this new C++ SDK will open an endless world of possibilities and help pipeline integration. All the plugins written with the new C++ SDK will be , by definition, multithreaded.

NEW RealWave Statistical Spectrum & Gertsner Waves
Two new waves have been added. RealFlow Version 5 will also give you the option of exporting and importing to/from a new format - RealWave Cache Data (.rwc) - and generating tilable displacement maps from the waves. You can now also export displacement maps.

NEW State of the Art Mesher (RealFlow RenderKit 2.0)
This new mesher (also in the RealFlow RenderKit 2.0) is fully multithreaded and faster, and has the same functionalities as the RealFlow 4 mesher. It is also extremely efficient on memory management.

GUI Improvements
Import and export nodes using XML. Save your preferred layouts and switch between them using hotkeys. Enjoy the re-vamped Curve Editor. Choose different color schemes for the GUI. Preview your simulations on the new Preview Window or lead image sequences using the new Movie Player. And much more!

3D Platform Connectivity
There will be new plugins for Houdini (now supported by Next Limit), XSI and Lightwave. Maya and 3DS Max plugins have also been updated and improved.

NEW License Scheme
Previous RealFlow versions were licensed by CPU (1 Standard license = 2CPU). From version 5, RealFlow will be licensed by machine instead.

Hervé, i'm gonna borrow your Realflow thread to ask you why you have not posted any renderings in a long time ? i checked your http://www.insideko.com/ and your foodstore site to see if you posted anything new there and there's a few berries there i haven't seen before. Which is btw very pretty looking  but where's the rest ? :) i wanna see more! you must have created lots of awesome images in the past months.

License per machine sounds awesome, just grabbed the demo again, awesome piece of software but the amount of call I have to use it is minimal, and at the current price no way....hobbyist license would be cool, or a subscription.

200% agree.

Make a small scale ver availeble for ponds/pools/garden/whiskey/milk etc, the money will poor in.
Large companies will notise these small beauties, and pay for big scale ver!!

Maxwell Render has a unique user base on small scale perfect detail endless perfection, and should support it for pure egoistic sake.
Puhh

I assume this promotion about buying v4 and upgrading is over now that v5 is released? I just got the email a couple days ago and now the website for it is down :( The licensing system for pre v5 really doesn't work out well for me. The price full price of realflow doesn't work out well for me either. So they "buy v4 for $2,000 and upgrade for free" promo was going to work out very well for me..."was" being the key word :-\ anybody know about this?
