Got lots of help on a monitor choice. What do you guys think about a graphics card?
Thanks, Ron

Depends on what you're after:
ATI HD 4770 has been making lots of noise around recently - powerful and yet costs less than 100 Euros.
And if you take 2 of those, you can combine them into HD 4770 CrossFireX.
You can "google" both for some 'face-to-face' tests with the most powerful graphic cards around.

Although I like ATI for other things, I'd do quite a bit of research before going the ATI for Maxwell Route. I just about a Sapphire 4850x2 and if I have more than one window open in Maxwell, it starts moving at 5fps when i navigate. Hmm, that's awfully slow for being one of the fastest non-pro cards on the market. I've done everything i can think of to fix it, but nothing. Others around here have had the same problem. It might not happen for every card, but I'd keep that in mind before going ATI

Thanks guys! I have a Radeon X1900 now and I decided that I am pretty much not going the ATI route. I also read of horrific driver problems with Crossfire setups like m-Que suggests. I am looking to go with a lower end Nvidia card that is about 4 steps up from what I have now. It's under $300 with a gig of memory, thinking trying that.
Cheers, Ron

I really like my PNY Quadro FX 1300.......it won't run any 3d shoot'em up I've tried, but works seamlessly in Lightwave/openGL and feels very sprightly.
Under $200 I should think.......

I just got a GTX 275 Nvidia. Around $200 bucks and runs just as fast or faster than my very expensive Quadro 4500.

I have settled on one just under what Bubbaloo is using, a GTX Nvidia 250. Not appreciable difference between it and the GTX 275 but costs $140 with a gig of ram.
Amazing what you can get these days at those prices!
