Caustic Graphics It was mention here few days ago... http://www.maxwellrender.com/forum/view ... hp?t=30937
Some cool stuff:
a. Splutterfish/Brasil was bought by Caustic Graphics. So are they going to adapt Brazil for the CauticOne card ? Probably yes.
b. 200X speed over today's state-of-the-art graphics products.
c. No more costly "render farm" server infrastructures.

And now I would love to see what Intel will offer with Larrabee

that's the official posting by caustic graphics

..so what they do seems more like "middleware" between an existing renderer (with a new plugin/translator") and their causticGL language, which can distribute raytracing to gpus.

but no release 1.0 before 2010..

..the concept with the extra card is strange though, .. imo i'd be a good idea to get that running on larabee or standar openGL capable cards.

in one of the threads you posted i found this company:

http://www.sunfishstudio.com/software.htm

also still in developement, no GI yet, but the concept sounds very promising.

no more (micro)polygons.. :P

Meridian sounds nice, but we'll see. No Max support for the beta program, no GI, no raytraced reflections... it's very early.

after all it seems they are shipping developer cards already...

*this looks hot indeed .. 5m polys in realtime with raytraced reflections.... :o
