But, Modo is a modeler, Hypershot is just a renderer!

Not quite, it's much more than just a modeler. It has a great renderengine which is fast and renders at good quality. Take a look at Luxology.com what new stuff 401 will offer, then you will see it's not just a regular modelingtool anymore.

Luxology should give me a license to Modo, as much free promotion as i given them and probably many new customers too.. :(

yes...and in version 401 you'll have the same realtime-preview as in hypershot

Nothing to compare there, Hypershot is a specialty tool, a good one but very expensive for what it does. Modo is full pipeline tool...
Now I have a question why Bentley/Microstation or Dassault/SolidWorks choose to license Modo's Render Engine, when they booth have a Maxwell plugin. Or why they didn't go for something more established like Vray for example :?:

simplicity i guess..photoworks was always a pain to use..maxwell is not as simple as it was during beta stage..so they want a renderer that anyone can use after 15 mins.

it's what i hate 'bout the latest developments in solidworks..they added many features that make it easier for the beginner but for the pros you're stuck with the same feature set basically..i hope they include more stuff from catia
