Sometimes I have trouble logging in...

Hi all, this is my first post here, and I'm not sure if I'm posting this in the right place, but I did not see a section for posts about the forum itself.

Sometimes I have trouble logging in. I'm careful to type my user name and password correctly. And I have not had this problem with anything else I log into on the web. Sometimes, the forum login page recognizes me, and other times it does not. Does anyone know what might be causing this, or has anyone experienced this themselves?

I've looked around the forum and was very impressed.

However, not being able to log in sometimes is frustrating.

Please help me out if you can. Thanks! :D

Welcome Aaron,

i don't have this problem myself but i've heard of others' login problems before. I think the Maxwell forum has more frequent hiccups than your average one.

Out of curiosity, what browser are you using? (should work with any of course).

Hi Adrian,

Thanks for the welcome. I'm using Internet Explorer version 7.0.6

I have had a couple of other problems using this forum, but nothing else so frustrating.

OK, since we started talking about logging in...
I keep having this sort of problem:
Once I enter nick/pass (the correct one), I'm being redirected to the starting page of the forum, BUT not being logged in, in fact. So, I log in ONCE AGAIN, everything goes well this time, except that all the new messages are shown as if I already read them.
So, to make it clear, it works like as if I would log in and log out straight away, and then log in again.
And, boy it makes me VERY mad  , cause when one isn't checking the forum for let's say a week, and all the new messages are shown as I've already read them, I keep missing some stuff from time to time...

I first thought that it might be a problem of my browser, pc...
But I already had this problem happen on 3 different computers, in different browsers (Firefox, Opera, IE-the greatest browser in the World), so I'm curious if someone else's experiencing similar problem???

BTW, this topic belongs to Offtopic

Hi m-Que, I've had that problem too, at least I think I have. I didn't notice if all new messages are shown as read, or not. However, sometimes when I try to log in to the Maxwell forum, the index shows up, but I'm still not logged in. This is apparent because at the top of screen, it does not show the Log out option, and even more noticeable, when I try to start looking in various topic area's, I'm not able to.

BTW, I had considered putting this topic in the "Off Topic" area, but I felt this was a general Maxwell question of a technical nature. The forum is a source of technical information about Maxwell and problems getting on the forum are of a technical nature as well... Or could it be personal, maybe the Maxwell forum website software just doesn't like me. Sometimes when I can't get in, it feels like that. :?

That happened to me when I tried to switch to Firefox. In IE, it always works great for me.

Thank you for your reply Bubbaloo. I've been using IE 7.0.6. I still sometimes have problems logging in, but not as much now. I have still have no idea why I have these problems, but I'm glad it has been working better. :D
