I have played with an industrial robot from ABB a few years ago. We were programming it to play golf. The user would specify strength and angle, and the robot would try and sink a golfball in a hole some 10m away. With the right settings it worked almost every time 
The remote control for it was nice but you had to be very very careful or you could break everything around it, it could make a 360 turn in about 2 seconds I think.
