Hey Guys,

I'm curious to know what you guys do when printing your final rendered images for your portfolios? I find it pretty difficult to get even borders from my printer! or do you guys do borderless prints? Any tips would be a great help! :)

Thanks

We have an Epson Stylus Pro 3800 that does great photos on their premium luster paper. That's how I print all of my final renders.

I'm curious as to why on earth you wanna have printed images for your portfolio ? on the jobinterview i went to last week i had my usb memory with me and a link to my CGTalk portfolio, it was more than enough to convince them. There's no need for papercopies these days :)

@Maximus - When I went for my placement interview last year they had no computer in the interview room  the closest computer was in the upstairs offices so had to pull out the hard copies! but I do take my usb memory with me just incase! :D

Teabag: No computer there ? wow that's unusual. Then i can understand why you want prints of your work with you. They should still have a laptop they can use to see your work with. Or if u have a nice new cellphone or mp3player you can put your portfolio on that and show them. :)

Leo: Hehe, yep that's right i did get hired. They sent me a email telling me to start looking for apartments in the surrounding areas around Gothenburg here in Sweden so i'm now on the hunt for a place to live. When i find that i'll be moving my stuff and starting the new job as a modeler/renderer at Spark-Vision :) http://www.spark-vision.com/ but i have to learn 3dsmax and Vray as soon as possible to be able to work there, and i have zero experience from both tools hehe, not sure how well that's gonna go..

Btw Leo, thanks! :D

I'm 100% confident you'll do fine.... you'll probably learn both programs before your last maxwell render is done rendering (to sl 25)

:D thanks Mattia and Leo, it was completly unexpected as they contacted me and i pretty much screwedup the interview when i finally got there as my train was late, i came an hour too late for the interview because i couldn't find the place and when they interviewed me i was so exhausted and tired from walking what must have been 10km to find the place i could barely speak hehe. But they were good guys, very understanding and helpful and i owe them a big thanks for believing in me even though i lack the required skills for the job. Hopefully i'll be able to learn 3dsmax and Vray within 3-6 months so i get to keep the job. :) that would be freakin sweet!

Mattia:  thanks man, i do hope all goes well. It would be so much fun to work there and finally get a life. Haven't had a life so far so i'm looking forward to this so much. At the moment i have so much freelancework too i'm drowning in it and because of all that i haven't had time to really absorb and understand what actually has happend.. crazy i know but it's day and night work right now to earn some money.

Leo: LOL that's right! actually they have Maxwell there too which they apparently used for a job.

Congrats Max!

I can lend a hand if you need it in the 3dsmax part. Just ask for it.

Thanks Fernando :) i might get back to you on the 3dsmax part later on, considering i'm a total newbie at it there will be plenty of questions and problems ahead. What i fear most is it's infamous instability..

Hey Max, did you do a *fist pump and say "Yeah!"* when you got to the street after the interview? Maybe walked 20-30cm above the pavement?

That is great news. Congrats from the far side.
