Yep- it's pretty good alternative to Photomatix. I bought it a few months ago and use it primarily for tonemapping, but it does a fair job of HDRI assembling as well.

I haven't put it through exhaustive testing, but I am happy with it.

I actually have no use for "real" hdr's. I'm just wanting to compile hdr's
like these: http://www.maxwellrender.com/forum/view ... hp?t=25731

And I don't think I want to get into that crazy HDR Shop software. Looks
like too much work for a simple hdr.

*edit*

Guess I don't need any software. Just need to edit a 4000x2000 pic, bring
it into the mxcl, save it as mxi, then i can use it as a backgroud in the
environment.

Or if I wanted an hdr, I could take it a step further and bring the mxi into
studio, and "save out" as HDRI.

Yeah? Maybe I just saw a crazy tutorial. Will the "free" version, Version 1 -
work for what I need?

*edit*

Ok I feel stupid now. Took me 5 minutes to make an HDR file.

Thanks for the help!!
