This is an exciting time for computer enthusiasts.

Doesn't "" imply "yeah, whatever..."
I'm always confused about how others use it.
Anyway, crazy specs on those cards. I really hope ATi/AMD stay afloat, their numbers sure are promising.

Plus, competition is good for everyone involved.

«yeah, whatever..» ?? no !! totally the opposite.
for me, this is rather a sad, pessimistic smiley. i'd LOVE to have maxwell render on GPUs already tomorrow !

The information in the whole article is completly false. Look up for more recent articles with information that is more likely to be true

Soon we'll have a GPU accelerated Mental Ray because Nvidia dumped Gelatto (Gelatto is free now... even the pro version).
I wonder how long will it take to see Havok, RealFlow, Glu3d or FumeFX with GPU computed physics.

sad news... but the guys in the replies at the bottom are not really happy with the article too
they say it's false... hmm.

800 stream-processors?? 1,2 TFlops??
Now this story seems even more far-fetched than the others...

i've seen that blast code is accelerated by ageia... but i guess that technology won't be around for long time any more either.

Yeah no need for "Ageia" anymore since Nvidia has bought that company too (like Mental Images and others). The Ageia technology PhysX has been transfered into CUDA enviroment so any CUDA (geforce 80 series and newer) card can act like the PhysX card with a Physics Processing Unit (PPU).
Now i'm getting really worried if the new ATI RV770 cards will really have those 1 to 1,2 tflops. It would make my very recent purchase of a second 8800gt card look pretty inefficient
