Any advantage in going from 32 to 64 bit with rendering etc?

Thanks much,
Ron

basically you can adress an exabyte ram PER APPLICATION and not only 2 or three gigs. so much larger scenes can be handled... 8)

sometimes you get even a little speed increase.

xp 64 supports more rammage :) more ram = bigger scenes = more multi lights

What they said.

With 64-bit you´ll be able to render out scenes that would easily crash a 32-bit system. And at a much higher resolution that would be possible in 32-bit.

Keep in mind though, that some third party plugins may not support 64-bit.

The advantages are many with XP64, i recently installed that into my rig and it got a big boost both in speed and stability compared to XP32. And happily games runs great on it! :D

For more info check this thread, it's about the same subject as yours.
