When it comes out as a Opteron, you guys can take a 24-core single system in your bosom and look down Ron's benchwell.

Yes, 8-way. And that probably isn't going to change, as the article describes its strong design relation to Barcelona.
I just hope it's a great performer in general, like Intel Core.
