Excellent! thanks jespi :) this looks even easier than those videos i've seen showing how SolidWorks is to work with. And i thought that looked easy, but this..

This looks very similar to Solidworks 2008, with a little bit of Rhino mixed in for the realtime movement of features. One big thing it looks like it's missing is a comprehensive feature history like in Solidworks, which is practically essential for engineering and manufacture purposes. It does have some neat tools, but I'm not sure it would work in a production environment.

It seems like they are pitching it as an addition to an existing software like Solidworks. I pulled this quote from their website:

"SpaceClaim’s flexible modeling environment gives the manufacturing engineer the necessary freedom to explore design changes without needing to know how the model was built."

So I guess that answers my concern. The engineering model would be built in another software like Solidworks, PRO/E, etc., imported into Spaceclaim, and then you could use Spaceclaim's realtime tools for quick visualization. Problem is, I don't think it will export back into Solidworks with the changes updated into the feature tree.

Depending on your budget maybe not...

"SpaceClaim LT:

SpaceClaim LT leverages the same software architecture as SpaceClaim Professional with a reduced suite of import/export capabilities and API access."

$695.00 USD
