It says it has an LED display.

I think it's quite fair for general purpose usage. Moderate power but a unique look.

for 1799USD starting price? Not if you ask me.

Well, you're right but if you feel like paying mostly for design it's fair because that's not measurable. If you ask me, a quad core processor shouldn't be more than 100 dollars but the market is eager and they always sell every new technology as expensive as they can. Tomorrow when something new is released, they can easily pull down the price in half and they still earn far beyond that needed which means production cost is not even comparable. Wild world... They always know there are people who *can* and *will* pay for it. If not, they wouldn't be able to set those fantastic prices.

You've got a point. I do think that most people buy Mac because of the look.

Right and I respect their design and there are a lot of people who pays for what they see before what they need. But until they offer both at a reasonable price I won't invest in it.

No. It's a LCD too.

but this use LED for a backlight of LCd panel.

Common LCD moniter use CCFL for a backlight.

LED backlight is better than CCFL and more expensive.
