Anyone has used or seen this product? looks very promising for us, not modeling experts... Just for little things like interior decoration, could be very fast, at least it seems like it.

Strata photo is very close to Uzr 3d (
http://www.uzr.de/en/) though more expensive uzr 3D has better/more useful export capabilities.
Both applications are very clunky and fall apart with relatively complex objects. If you check out the galleries on both strata & uzr 3d you will see the software is great for making garden gnomes though!
Personally I think you will get more milage from Realviz ImageModeler though quite a bit more expensive it is a lot more robust and doesn't require the use of printed template. Also you can work with imported geometry, which is more useful than it sounds.

buxton, .. would you mind terribly if I used your avatar as a tablecloth texture ?

Not at all.
The avatar is actually one of my pantone wall drawings (must be 10 years old by now) if you PM me an email address I can send you a higher res version for use as either wall art or tablecloth. I have graphite versions too.

Man ... that's excellent. Those are beautiful... the simplicity is refreshing.

The graphite ones have lived on in my CG work as bumpmaps (inverted) for most of my fabrics.
One day when rent, food and clothes are less of a priority I will go back to the simple life of a pencil and a wall or something to draw on.

I'm away from the office until Tuesday if you can't wait so long see if the pictures on my dot mac have enough pixels for you.
