Eric Clapton, The Beach Boys and some static on a nanotube radio smaller than the size of a human cell or the size of DNA. I heard this story on NPR (National Public Radio) last evening and thought it cool until thoughts about the potential for nefarious uses brought me back to reality.

Hear Eric's "Layla" here: http://www.npr.org/templates/story/stor ... d=15868800

I guess soon we'll be equipped with permanent transmitters embedded in the skull for our daily Big Brother broadcast ....... lol.

.......which is 100 billion times smaller than the first commercial radios.
Hmmm, .. let me think about that, ... a thousand million in a billion x 100 = insane.

Nanotech has been equally nefarious and beneficial since leaving the starting gate. The first time I saw a nanobot was circa 1994 and it was designed as a birth control device. The bot kind of looked like ED209 [ http://www.action-hq.com/store/images/h ... _ED209.jpg ]from Robocop, .. it would use a pincher with one hand to grab the tail end of a sperm and the other hand was equipped with a lancer that would pierce, or terminate the sperm cell. I don't know where I saw that video, ..but it was pretty disturbing to watch as the sperm struggled to get free -- it was no different than a lion taking down a gazelle, ..with the exception that one of the participants -----was a machine doing the killing!

So comforting ......
