What i totally didnt expected, is to receive spam via _this_ board:
from user "shohobanvarsd" some credit card crap:

As you probably know, spam e-mails can also have faked From: fields. The From field doesn't reflect the real spamming source. Take a look at the full e-mail header to see where is coming from.

actually that wasn't an email, but a private message which I also got in my inbox here on the board.

yes we noticed that. It is related to robot spamming in phpbb forums. If that persists we may need to disable private messaging. phpbb seems to be quite vulnerable to spam activities.

Noo please don't disable pm's, that's a important part of the forum. There gotta be some phpbb mod you can install to make us safer from spambots and such things.
I've done some phpbb modding in the past and there's a large amount of good mods you can install to make it both safer and better for us all.

I'm not sure if this is relevant at all. But yesterday (or was it the day before yesterday?) I clicked (by accident) on the profile of the newest forum member, down at the bottom of the main page where it says: "The newest registered user is".
I don't remember the new member's name actually, but his homepage/website that is shown in his profile was something like... xxx...viagra..50ml.. xxx.
Well, at least, it was something similar.
But maybe, that's something legal...
Btw: It would be a bad thing, if pm would be disabled, imo.

Yes, there are new users every day not real people but spam robots. We need to install some hack to avoid it. Not a big problem so far though.

If you've been through the entire list of members on this site (like me) you'll be shocked at some of the members and their site links - some have child porn links. No joke.
