hello again .....

* * *

i have a new project for programming...

-->
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Catenary

well. i am not bad in maths but i've never met differential equations so i have a little problem with them.

so i am searching a step-by-step list for the calculation of the catenary (two points in space and length L).

i want to create a spline in space so i can create chains or ropes.

* * *

is there anyone around here that can help me a little ?

I wrote a macro to do it in solidworks years ago, I'll see if I can find it, the math is very basic though...

Also, depending on the parameters the result is often so close to a parabola that you can barely tell the difference.
