I recently purchased genuine fractals to aide me with projects..
ie render at smaller size and scale it up...and i mean maybe render.. typicall in the 650 by 450 range or smaller
Any opinions on this software and its limitations ...
I have a 30 day time to use it if i don't like I can return it so i want to see if there are any one that knows about it

Since you have the software, you are in a good position to test and see if it works for your needs...
How well it will work depends on how much you intend to scale your originals... and the conditions that you view the final image. If you viewing conditions are critical ones (such as viewing the image at reading distance) I hazard a guess that it won't work that well.
As with any scaling system... the software can't invent accurate detail if the detail is not in the original image. Fractal scaling can work very well in the right circumstances.... but such a small original (650x450 pix) may not scale well at all.
Try some tests and please post.

I've tried it. I think it works well under certain circumstances, as mr charles here i saying. However, you might want to try to increase you orignial render to about the double. But, it all depends on the picture itself, what is the motif, etc. And, ofcourse, how large are you going to make it?
I've found that photoshop's Bicubic smoother, works just fine aswell.

Hi,
We use it adn we often geet good results but like anything, don't push your luck!
look out especially in areas of flatish colour where you will lose noise etc. sometimes helps with darker ares.
Cheers,
Josh.
