I'm using Adobe Captivate, try that too, it works really well for me. It is much easier to do such videos than before!!

This tool seems to work fine! Which codec do you recommend that I use?

x264 is a very good general purpose codec. It's not specialized for this kind of footage, but neither is any other free codec afaik.
