Every scener will surely know chaos/sanity. After many years in Amiga demo scene, he's still active with the revolutionary project .werkkzeug and after the first version of their low level demo editor they're back with planet's best procedural texture generator. Well, IMHO...
Here are some linke for the ones who have neurons allocated for free:

You can download and use planet's best texture generator for free here:
http://www.werkkzeug.com
Here's a 96 KB unbelievable game previously released:

Here's their 177 KB brandnew realtime demo:

"A Poem To A Horse" is a real masterpiece everyone should see:

"To take full advantage of the power of procedural textures and to get the minimal filesize out of your textures, you need our Texture generation Library, available for all major platforms/consoles. "
Special price until Sept. 2007 is, $21, 374.40!! Huh, did I miss something?
I don't mean to quibble here Tom, but all I can seem to do with the free version is save a BMP map...and that doesn't work as far as I can see.
It may be "The Best Texture Generator On The Planet" and it better be for $21,370.40...

The demo scene maniacs

Oh well I was just too young to start coding when my brother had his own demo group
I really love working with procedural textures but I use them only for refining detail of the main raster texture. Aside from some wooden floors I've never seen a good example of creating a real looking texture only by procedural textures.
Human interaction with procedurals is really needed or a completly new way of generating procedural textures in a kind of a progressive natural generation (sort of like Ivy generator). Allegorithmic did a nice job with the interactive tools in their MapZone product and DarkTree company is doing a great job with Tactile Ink
http://www.darksim.com/html/tactile_ink.html But still.... there's something missing

Only a scener can understand the magic behind this, it's not for your render needs.

Don't worry Tom. As an ex-true scener fan I can still appreciate hilarious stuff like this little demo which came on the CD with the Gravis Ultrasound Max my bro bought a long time ago.
Enjoy

Ever wondered what some of the ex-demo sceners do now for living?? My friend an old demo scene veteran developed this nifty Circulation thing which is real-time VJing software for all your realtime video mixing and distorting fun. In other words - pure 2d scripted and real-time controlled madness

Also speaking about real-time madness. Check this out. This is a demo that comes with the 8800 gts/gtx NVIDIA cards. Real-time 3d smoke and fluid simulation.

I never thought that I would see a 2d grid in such a resolution move so fast on a good CPU. But damn!!!! This is a 3d grid and it's mainly calculated by the GPU. The 8800 GTX is a monster

Interesting stuff Tom, i've always been fascinated by the scene stuff.

You need to add an
export node below the whole stack. Press "1" and choose Export in the bottom right, kinda complicated i know.

Hehe, I did, but my pc isn't fast enough to pull it off in an acceptable framerate..

>hybaj: Both are fantastic, especially the nvidia demo. What about that VJ software, is it available?
>Adrian: You seem like started to play with werkkzeug already

If you've just tried the texture editor, I would strongly suggest the demo maker, too.
>dutch_designer: Oh, yes it needs a core2duo at least to run smoothly.
Now, I invite you to view more Farbrausch products:

One of my fav is C64 emu in 64K

Can someone explain what the 'demo scene' is for me? I'm amazed I'm so out of the loop here, I was a big amiga supporter in the day ( I owned a tsr80, then a pet, then a vic20, then a home built appleII, then an amiga, and finally a pc) My amiga is still in the closet (2000HD with 3mb ram and a flicker fixer card, plus 105mb scsi).
So how come I don't know what the demo-scene is?
