Some of you might know by know that I just started counting howmany people visit my mom's website... anyway, I notice that:

41%- uses 1024x786
23%- uses 1280x1024
10.9% uses 800x600   ?????

It's so sad to think that the majority of people use their computers at 1024x768 and even more sad that some people have them at 800x600. I think my 286 had a higher resolution than that

other things...
90% windows users
76.1% IE

1 linux user (that was me  ) and 4 OSX

Base on two month activities (4600 visitors), here are the statistic of my website (Auxpecker):

35%-uses 1280x1024
22%-uses 1024x768
30%-uses 1600x1200 and more
i have no people using 800x600

54%-uses IE
40%-uses Firefox

98% are windows users...i guess it's normal as my website is mainly for rhino's users.

23% from China  (there is a big market in China for McNeel, as i' m sure now 99% have an illegal license )
14.5% from US
11% from Italy

It will be very interesting to get the statistic from the maxwell website and forum.

1024x768 is by far the dominant screen resolution on the web, followed by 800x600. We CG people are an exception to the rule.

If these stats come from the w3c website itself, they aren't very representative as there's a large amount of web-designers in the audience, that don't use IE for personal endeavors and have big screens :)

My stats from Histats

1280x1024 42.1%
1024x768 26.3%
Other res 18.8%
1600x1200 5.8%
1152x864 3.6%
800x600 3.0%
1400x1050 0.3%

A lot of entries are from Architects/3D freelancers, so resolutions are bigger than a user who can entrer in your mom's page
