mac OS: forcing an app to open a file

how does that work ?

i heard it should work... but how ??

for example for a newer version file to open on an older app version and stuff like this.

You must do that with the "Info dialog" when selecting a document with Finder. There you select the application to open that file or all that kind of files.

yes, to open similar files with a specified app, i know that

but i'd like to open an educational version file on a commercial version. that is officially blocked, but can that be passed somehow ? (vector works)

illegal operation, i know... :?
