Hey -
Found this site: some really good product viz on here. Not sure what they're rendering with but their product shots look very good overall.

Considering the average technology available to usertoday I would give their product viz gallery max 5 out of 10.

Good looking gallery there, but it looks like it's rendered with Vray. They got that typical Vray'ish look to them.. :/

very nice clean work, a little too cgish for me but nice work all the same

I thought it might be v-ray, but wasn't sure. Agreed that some of their stuff is definitely CG looking, but it's mostly pretty tight and on average nicely lit.
Thanks

Nice product work... however I think that the rendering could have been done with anything. Lightwave can produce the the same images (look around at Otacons work)... In fact, the grainyness of the shadows is the same you would get with area lights that didn't render long enough... and the glossy finish on everything...

3 years ago I would of thought it was pretty darn good, .....now, .... just so so ..
I believe their main app is Maya, ..so like Mike T. said, ......it could be any engine, but Vray makes the most sense for production w/their pretty sizable farm.
I know what you mean about the product renders looking good, .....industry-wise, ..they're more than acceptable, but like I said, ...being here has skewed the whole damn thing for me(and I'm sure many others). lol.......
Nowaways, ..if it's not sickly saturated w/realism, ... I'm not usually moved.

Eric's work does look good. I'd give him the overall points for realism, but I think the Protograph work has better lighting and more visual snap. Hmmm.. this is beginning to remind me of the photo-realism thread...
Anyway, Eric's stuff does look great.

yep, i «know» Mark from an other forum, namely the art vps hardware forum.
he's been using art vps hardware now for quite some time. i wanted to sell my last two pure cards... he wanted «newer ones». well.
* * *
as far as i know his background is photography and for photorealism he tried rendering.

Wouldn't that suggest they're Mental Ray then? Isn't that box a Mental Ray only system?
