Anybody got any tips on creating spherical maps?

Could you show a wirefame of the models you're having issues with ? and also which program are you using for this ? some more info would help us help you. :)

It was more of a general question on creating maps for 360 degree mapping of spheres or more awkardly shaped rocks.

I haven't got one at hand at the moment. :oops:

Thanks Tim, Spherize top to bottom?

Also any tips on getting rid of the pinch on the top of the sphere?

I know these are very basic questions! But it is one of the few things I have dodged for years and have until today been too afraid (:shock: :oops: ) to ask!!!!

I have trawled for tutorials to no avail, and now it is time to step out and admit, I am a UV Mapping novice!

And you can blend a "rightside up" one with an "upside down" one and get a map with no poles at all when you spherically map it. (see post above)
