PHOTOSHOP CS3 goof-up

Ok... don't make THIS mistake...
I ordered the upgrade for Photoshop CS3... received it today... it wouldn't install; told me my serial numbers were wrong. So I called Adobe...
Well, I have Adobe Creative Suite STANDARD - NOT Photoshop CS
Therefore, I have to upgrade to Creative SUITE. You can't upgrade from Creative Suite to Photoshop alone.
So now I have a brand-new PHOTOSHOP CS3 package. Anyone want to buy it? Local sales only (Southern Florida USA). I bought it from Amazon - $195.99. If no takers I'll fill out the damn "Software Destruction" form and wait 6-8 weeks for my refund from Adobe...
It's always something...

I did call them... the woman was very nice... I explained that 1.) I had screwed up... and b.) I didn't really want to upgrade everything (I rarely, if ever use Illustrator, or anything else in the "Suite")... just Photoshop
She very politely told me to go pound sand...
I re-ordered the "right" package - $393.95. So now I get to wait 6-8 weeks to get my refund...

the problem is that you still buy it now and pay more.
and i don“t mean to blame you as i totally understand you. we people in europe are also going to buy the CS3 products for this over the top price.
it is really a shame with the monopoly adobe has got. there are no real alternatives.
until now i managed to wait buying the new stuff and i hope many people are doing the same so adobe at least recognizes that people are very unhappy with their price politics.
but as i said i totally understand you
cheers

I've thought about this... I understand, my muck up... but I think that Adobe has actually made a mistake by adopting this path... think about this:
I have the "Creative Suite": PS, Illustrator, Image Ready... blah, blah.
Now, all I really want to do it upgrade PS. So I buy PS alone for $200.00. Then, after awhile I need Illustrator. I have 2 options: buy the single upgrade ($200) or buy the suite upgrade $400. So I'd be into them for $400 for just the two upgrades or $600 if I upgrade CS after upgrading PS...
Screw it, I ordered the Suite update... maybe someday I'll use the other programs...

(This time without caps lock on)
If you call and don't like what you hear - call again and speak to a different rep - ask for a supervisor - etc.
They should give you a credit.
Shoot - do a chargeback.
