I've always used www.dabs.com to buy PC stuff. Not sure how well their prices stack up against the alternatives but their service has been perfect so far.

How much should I expect to pay for a dual quad core? w/ appropiate ram ofcourse

the problem with dual boards are:
- only for FB-DIMMs (more expensive and lower clockrates)
- not good for overclocking - only a few models have the options for clocking (i5000P chipset; socket 771)

I was also looking (dreaming) at newegg and I notice that the dual opterons were not as expensive as they used to be

however I couldn't find in the whole site a single MB for a 2x 939 setup? I don't get it!

Although with the new licensing system I am now thinking of going for a bunch of screenless intel core2duo mac minis and creating a render farm. but that's another story...
