Hey, this is a potentialy great plugin for photoshop.
It allows you to open multiple 3D formats in photoshop (maya,obj,lwo,xsi,etc) and paint on the 3Dmodel with any photoshop tool. .(paint/clone/gradient, etc)
lets you tumble the model in 3D via maya like contorls(ithink there is a way to change the 3D cam controls too)
lets you view and paint color channel, bump, spec, reflection, and even displacment and lets you see the displacment realtime as u adj the displacmet strenght... (watch demo movies on site)

right now im having some issues with it. .but on the forum off the main site the enzo adm. user response to nearly all posts made and has already announced a stabler version will be released soon

so please check it out. .its potentially a great alrenative to deeppaint/body paint w/o leavin PhotoShop!...
30 day FREE working demo and great price $299 for licesnes

please try it and give your feedback cuz this would the the bomb to have as a matured and fully functioning tool!

please be patient if it dont work too well but lets help out its development

This is very cool... I'm curious though, isn't one of the versions of CS3 going to do this as well? Of course, I have my head up my butt (hard to see the sun).. but I egress...

Instead of 6 minutes of OGL demo, I need to see if you can paint with other images/clone from photo sources. Painting with solid colors is all but useless. Is this possible?

I guess you can use any tool in Photoshop, looks pretty good :)

I don't think however you can use the clone tool directly on the 3D viewport, but at least you can clone in the texture and see a realtime update. I feel much more comfortable with Photoshops tools than any other 3D painting tools so this could be a very effective tool...

@Mike
The way that you paint in Zbrush is kind of similar "besides the obvious tools that this doesn't have" because you use solid colors / different brush strengths and patterns. With a tablet this is completely possible and could definitely be a cool feature for someone without a zbrush or bodypaint type program.

If you haven't played with Piranesi I would suggest checking it out. A lot of images look a special style but there is nothing stopping you from just putting the finsishing touches on a photoreal render with this tool. You can use grime dirt and paint in perspective. Locking the painting to the different surfaces or materials or combinations thereof.
