My younger brother served on the USS Abraham Lincoln aircraft carrier...he said they have these:

...they're called CIWS (Close-In Weapons System, pronounced 'sea-whiz'), and they have one in the front of the ship, and one in the back. Apparently, they radar-lock and track anything in thier range that moves...he told me the Navy pilots he talked to said they never get used to being tracked as they're landing (pretty understandable  ). The ones on his ship were 30mm, and fire between 4000 and 6000 rpm...

well, indeed understandable.... !!

and again we could go to the discussion if weapons are able to save world peace by their threat ...

there'll be a time where such guns shoot atomic bombs...

some of the guns in the videos are shooting depleted uranium rounds, which apparently combust on impact…not quite Little Boy or Fat Man but apparently the dust is also lethal
