Guys, I'm in contact with Thomas Luft and he's open to sugestions to improve his Ivy generator even more :D
Please put your wishes here, keep them short and clear and of course doable.

I'll be collecting all wishes and send them to Thomas.

1.
I have problems importing my objs see pic
Image
I know I'm not the only one, could he please revise to see if he can figure what is up? I can submit my files

2.
3ds and lwo support would be nice.

3. multiple plants (growing at the same time)

4. an option for different types of plants... I can provide textures

5. when exporting (important)... We need an option where the mesh is not joint all the way together. What I need is the trunk separeted from the leaves (the leaves can be joint together)

6. Maxwell support :D

7. A road map with dates of future releases

8. Linux support

9. User gallery, where we can upload our own renderings

10. why stop there... could it be possible to redesign the engine to create other plants like shrubs? (I ll provide reference pics and ready to use textures) trees, palm trees? lets make it a full 3d plants solution

11. We should have a testing team... I'm first in the list !

I haven't used it... but it looks like a single leaf map is applied to all leaves. Is that true? If so, you should be able to provide it with several of maps and have it randomize from them. Plus, the leaves tend to be a bit uniform in orientation; that could use a tweak/controls.

How about the option to grow leaf stems as well (for close up shots). Or, optionally, a bent plane that intersects the root/tendril so you can have a leaf with a mapped stem....

Leonardo, your mesh needs to be triangulated before importing into Ivy Generator.

Nico, please tell him that some of the controls seem reversed.

I'd very much like the option to grow from several points at the same time.

not every software gives the option to triangulate the mesh before importing

ABSOLUTELY POSTIVELY CHANGE THE SLIDER FUNCTIONALITY [STYLE]

Everytime I grab what I think is the right one, ....I'm changing something else...... !!! ....every single time !

Basic numerical entry would be fine.

Also tell Thomas ..... it's pretty great. :)

Nice work Nico .....

** Also: A more common 3D navigation style would be super appreciated ..... I still don't know how to pan the screen.

The poly count of very large ivy vines can get very large, it would be nice to have a detail slider for either close or far away viewing.

Edit:

It's my mouse...... It's being emulated as a PS/2 through a USB KVM switch.
....... fixed it.

Maybe Thomas could just provide a few alternate styles(like Modo does) for navigation ....?

thx M. ;)

I wonder if the app could be made with simpler parameters ...? ...I mean, ...we're just growing ivy, ....it's not Realflow .... :P
