Chassis Intrusion, one hell of a crappy invention :(

Hi all

Ok so a problem happend to my new puter, one sunny morning when i started it up it complained about chassis intrusion. I thought oh well this is no problem i experienced it before so i can solve it with a quick reset of bios by picking out the battery and switching the jumpers position to get my system back up and running again in no time. The above was tested numerous times as it should be done and still nothing works, no matter what i do i cannot get my system up and running again. :(

After a while frustration kicked in and i contacted Asus techsupport to ask them for advice and help, they told me the bioschip must be trashed and replaced with a new one. So i ordered a new bioschip, got the latest bios installed into it and then popped it onto my motherboard. Now guess what.. the bloody computer still complains about Chassis Intrusion and refuses to start!

On a sidenote, i never even used the chassis intrusion feature of my motherboard or my case. So why it suddenly complains about this is beyond me.

This is just not making any sense at all :( and i'm loosing my mind over this as i can no longer find ways to solve this issue.

Any tips and/or suggestions are very welcome.

Thanks in advance

/ Max

Is there a feature in the BIOS settings to ignore the intrusion alarm - or is this something that's controlled by jumper?

It's jumper controlled on this motherboard, but no matter what i set the jumper to it makes no difference. I even tried without the jumper. Still no difference. :(

It looks like i have to RMA this piece of crap or step back to my smelly old P4 again. *sigh*
