Suggestion:
Check out this layout sceme ... I have found it to be the most practical.
Go to the layouts menu and choose the last one before the separator.

finally a image browser other than the built in c4d one that "sees" hdr images...

I am not sure what you mean.
All my hdr files base at gamma 1 and are shown uncorrected in the viewer. I would like to set a display gamma for this HDRI images only.
I post a wish at the xnview forum for that now.
