It is understandable in a hunter/gatherer society where survival depends on the hunt of the day and it is done respectfully and when absolutely necessary.
I do not detest the act of making a kill for necessity, but what is bothersome in modern society is the complete disrespect for things other than human, the frivolity of attitude, the arrogance, the complete lack of empathy, the hunting for sport, the ridicule, the contemptuous laughter, the scorn and indifference in view of a creature's agony...

sorry to jump.. human are crazy sometimes... all related to death.. anyway, there is a Doctor from Austria that does the same thing with.. human corpses... he exibits everywhere in Europe...

yes, he is a «little» strange, but at least he is a very well educated professor in pathology. people are not really sure into what he really is, but what he does is impressive. i had the chance once to go to this exhibition, but didn't go, was many years ago.
where did Leonardo da Vinci get his bodys from for his studies... hmmm...
i think von Hagen does his work in respect to human life. in an interview, he described an incredible interest and wondering when he saw as a child a chicken's head being chopped off and it would still be running around.
many people see him as a freak and a person that would do anything to get a corpse... some people might remind themselves of hannibal lecter ...
