That is a cheek! Considering the work Thomas put into our standard material preview! They can try all they want but they will never be maxwell

There have been like 4 or 5 threads about this in the past. They held a competition at evermotion to see who's model would be the new material test scene...yadyadadadadyaydayday....and so on and so forth.
Lets not go over this again

Since i never used Vray, it came to a suprise to me when i saw it by chance today. Man they got some balls, might as well use the same scene.

What maxwell need is microdisplacement not only displacement

displacement is not the problem you might do it with your 3d package, what a render only can do is microdisplacement

Could be a cool thing for maxwell, but for me I can use mental ray/or fur-hair for that and compose it later. The question is, what is faster, doing microdisplacement with Vray/mentalray and compose it into a maxwellrender, or try doing it all at once with maxwell?

This picture above is not displacement - maybe microdisplacement.
But I am sure that this is made with hair!! Also lets look at the bottom of the object, there is hair also - but a totaly different material!
So this is made with a hair plug!
I am sure its a fake
