I bought a macpro last friday and I'm wondering which "side" I should install Maya 7.0 on--does it run best on XP, or is it better on OSX, or does it not matter?

what's been your experience?

Congrats on the new puter :) although i lack knowledge and experience from it i'll make a guess that Maya will run both faster and more stable on OSX than it ever will on XP.

Maya 8.5 on OSX is Universal Binary, but still not 64 bit, this may have to do with Tiger's limited 64 bit capabilities so the maya 64 bit release could be pushed back to Leopard.

I wouldn't recommend running any previous non UB versions under Intel OSX - they'll work, but its not the best solution out there.

Thanks, that's what I figured…
