does anyone know if there's a way to upgrade from 7.0?--the site only lists the upgrades from 8.0

Just noticed this as well. Mental Ray UI updates sound VERY interesting (does anybody really understand that thing??

)
I too am on 7, and as far as I know you WILL be able to upgrade from that, albeit not for a few months

I can wait…i'm in the process of upgrading my hardware for the first time in almost 4 years

so I won't have the cash available to upgrade now (besides it didn't look like they had a UB version ready now anyways)

SWEEET!!!!!!!
DLin' It right now thanx for the heads up.. had no I dea it would be released soooo soon!..
I'm 99.99% sure the current 8.0 maxwell plug will NOT work with it..I guess it matter on when autodesk releases the SDK for 8.5.. after the sdk release then I'm sure the'll have it out in at least a few weeks.. (hopefully before the end of Jan).. .and hopefully we'll see a new maxwell 1.2 too in the coming month(s) (crossing fingures)
exited to check out the new dynamics.. essp the strechy/squishy plastics solver and cloth on cloth xxx action.

SDK always has been shipped with Maya itself. So it's already released.
