Hi,

does anyone have a idea what is the best way to model
a glas pyramid (sth. like Louvre).
I´m using Archicad an Max. In Archicad it is impossible to do
sth. like this.
What is the best wayy in MAX. Polygonmodelling, i dont know.

Thanks

It sounds simple to me but I'm familiar with poly modeling

I'd start with the pyramid object in Max then I'd use slice over and over all the way up the structure then I'd use cut to free the edges and then hinge the louvers. I'd delete areas under the hinges for the louvers then I'd shell the whole thing.

After shelling the object I'd add structure to the glass at the desired points along the louvers with extrude and bevel.

Try it with the Lattice modifiere. Dont convert it to a mesh, so you'll have the full parametric control.
