Forget about all the scary bad guys we read about every day.
Take a look at this and you will realize "Monsanto" should be near the top of the list.
The scariest thing in the world is about to become what we put in our mouth.

Its long. Like an hour and a half.

Europe appears to be relatively safe for a while. The US and Canada are the test kitchens for genetically engineered foods.

Hi Thomas,
I saw your post when you put it up, but just wasn't in the mood for more bad news. We get enough of it here in DC.
I was just sent this link by a friend in Germany. So I looked at it without knowing what it was about.
Egad!!!
I'm drawing up plans now to expand the three raised beds of my veggie garden.

Someone ought to sue them for contamination of the natural seed-genome of their farm. (instead of the other way of being bullied into patent infringement)

It is like smoking a cigarette in your face (tarnishing your lungs) and on top of it suing you for inhaling *my* smoke; regardless if it came to you inadvertently by the wind  :?

I agree totally.
I can't believe the decision of the judges in Canada.
What were they smoking?

I agree.
They would have definately voted for *organic* in that case.
Or, so that guy in the bus station in Seattle told me.

All about the greed and control for profit...God, it makes me furious!
Whoever is allowing this to continue ought to be strung up from the nearest GMO tree branch for allowing the patenting of life forms...

Do you ever start to feel like it is in the media's best interest to keep us scared all the time?

I mean, in my lifetime there has been issue after issue after issue that was supose to radically alter our lives for the worse. Very few of them had any noticable effect. Most of them are forgotten after 10 years.

I think fear sells newspapers, magazines and commercial time - and that's the bottem line. Yes, bad stuff happens, but the rolling list of things the media puts before us that are suppose to scare us to death just never seem to end - overpopulation, red tide, warming oceans, MSG, caffine, no caffine, mad cow disease, bird flu, methane emmisions, hairspray, etc and ad nauseum...

I'm not really addressing the issue of this particular video - just making some observations.

Didn't see the video, slow dialup connection
So what can you say about global warming? It already has noticable effect in my city, the snow had to cover the streets for a month, but still +5C.
Imho, GMO products are the most dangerous things on earth, even a pandaminium is not so scary, because not us, but our children will suffer from GMO products with mutations of all kind.

I haven't seen the video in totality but thanks for the link, this is important information...

jeffg > hey, sure the medias need to keep us scared to sell their paper, and politics need to keep us scared to sell their politics (50's propaganda is pretty amazing today, so explicit), but as vansan says, subjects like global warming (noticeable here too) and health problems due to big companies power (oil, food, health, chemical lobbies) might not be the subjects that are the most "dramatised", because fear in that case is counter-economical for them...

If some of you still have a small piece of land, there is a french association (and probably others!), kokopelli, which provides a lot of seeds and aim for biodiversity.. it can be a good idea to start growing a complement to industrial food since this seeder might be killed soon or later by the numerous lawsuits they take from major seeders and french gov..

I agree we have to be very careful with GMO because of their interaction with other existing organism, but mutations are not bad by themselves; every organism is a mutation of its precedent in the evolution line. We are mutants, and that's fine. Just a thought. :P

Yes, but natural selection of mutations from the environment might be wiser than men selections! :?:
