Hey, I've seen from time to time renderes onthe forum of a skull assembled from a CT scan. I was wondering what ppl are using to create and outoput 3D meshes from CT/MRI data..

I've googled MRI to 3D export and got not too many results..

One of the Main results that I got from google for for 3D doctor by Able software http://www.ablesw.com/3d-doctor/ .. WE OWN 3D doctor and I have been working with it on/off since 2005.. The developer/programer Dr. Ted Wu is a great guy- Ive met him and he updates this software regualarly(just got an update last week) and respondes to questions and emails within 24 hours. So If anyone out there IS considering buying software like this I definatly recomend 3D doctor esp. becasuse of Dr Wu's great response. but 3D doctor is tha only one I used so Id like to know what else is there

I was looking at how other programs make 3d models.. You see those tv comercials with a beating heart and it s like WOW.. what r they using to do that?

BUT I was just Curios what other ppl were using to create 3D models from MRI/CT images...

Hi,

You could look at Materialise - Mimics software.

Search google for DICOM - it is a standard file format for medical imaging, and with it you can find a lot of software that is made for work with it - maybe some of these programs can do what you want!
