Sure looks cool, but how would you strafe back and forward?
And when would you really need to go through your scene with a touch of sensitivity that you wouldn’t be able to do with the mouse and keyboard?

looks interesting - but can you believe they are using the licensing trick to charge more for a 'commercial' version! What's that all about?! We'll be paying extra for 'commercial' keyboards and monitors next  - 'yes sir, that'll be 50% more for your 'commercial' USB cable', unbelievable...

I think it's more a question of providing a cheaper non-commercial version than charging more for commercial use - people will always find something to complain about, though

mmm... yes thats what it must be, it must cost them less to make a 'personal' one - silly me

Yes, you are pretty silly if you think there's a direct relationship between the cost of producing a particular model and its selling price :P

You still need drivers for your modeling software to make this work, right? Would be cool if they have drivers for XSI.

Maybe I did  Are you against pricing differentials between commercial and non-commercial use of software?

As 3D Connexion pretty much have a monopoly, they can set whatever price-points they like.

Nice :) So the only difference between this cheaper SpaceNavigator, and SpaceTraveler is that the Navigator only has 2 programmable buttons instead of two?

It has a different casing, I should imagine the sensor is the same, though.

If you need lots of buttons for macros, you can use one in conjunction with a Belkin N52 Speedpad, like I do. http://tomshardware.co.uk/2004/03/06/ga ... index.html

But I don't understand why I should buy the commercial version instead of the "Personal Edition". Can't I use the PE version with XSI?

edit: I see the PE only offers online support only, but.....big deal :)

Now we only need Maxwell to support it, in Studio.....
