some clever guys from the same school i am at have developed a complete game engine, now it's about to create some content! (for next semester, they want a playable vertical scroller level !)

www.orxonox.net/

i had contact with them and they want me to help them model some spaceships and stuff.

has someone some tips which points could be important?

mainly:
- polycount
- amount of textures needed per «normal» spaceship
- types of textures (color, bump, spec maps ?)

* * *

could someone post a nice maya-model i could look at and learn (please with textures) ?

thanks !

Have you checked out the game art sections at cgtalk?

I'm usually modeling on the wrong side of 2.5million tris, so I won't offer any modeling advice. ;)
