Wow, if we keep this up, we may actually get back to where we were 10,000 years ago.

Yup, the elegance of simplicity is a forgotten art; ... within the (mostly unnecessary) complexities of modern life.

Great suggestion. Thank you for that !

Simple art like this is always a fascination. Working with pencil is a great way to become familiar with light and be more observant of nature.

That makes me think that 4000 years ago we humans were not dumber than nowadays; we just now got more history legacy, more learned technics. Just a thought.

Exactly ! ... and I agree 100%
Critical thought (problem solving) and accumulation of knowledge (memory) are separate functions of the mind. If we restrict a human to a only a few simple tools then it needs to operate on ingenuity to economically make do with the available. In this context, people 4000 years ago were just as clever or even more clever than we are today (because due to their tool limitations they had to train their mind, like a muscle).

How many of us today would be able to re-derive the findings of Euclid or Archimedes (for example) if we were to be restricted to the same knowledge of that era ? (http://www.archimedespalimpsest.org/sch ... lson1.html)

I agree Thomas! Today we hit buttons and this makes us lazier than ever.

That's how the ancient Greeks went under... too many slaves. Have a problem? Just put the slaves on it.. not enough slaves, get some more :)
In the end it stumped their ingenuity to come up with technological solutions.

Anyways, props to this guy for showing some really common sense and straightforward thinking. Englightening to see really.

Yes Mike, maybe we are returning to 10 000 years ago..!
