Yep, the good thing is the current owners of the new MacPros can upgrade it to the new chips. quote "... but we wanted to let you know that so far it's looking like you'll be able to upgrade your Mac Pro to 8 cores in the not too distant future." from

How do you upgrade just the cpu's on the Mac though? Doesn't it void your warranty if you take out the processors yourself?

Yup, the warranty goes to hell if you upgrade the processors, you just risk it...

I don't perceive it as risk. I couldn't get them in fast enough.
