Intel Xeon 5000 vs. 5100 series

Does anyone know about how much faster the Intel Xeon Woodcrest 5100 series chips are compared to the Xeon 5000 series?
The man difference is the Cache memory 2MB vs. 4MB, but also how the dual cores share this memory I think.
What kind of % increase in speed might this be? I can't seem to find any direct comparisons.
Thanks

I think the main difference is old Core vs. new Core. The 51xx series is based on the new Core 2 architecture and 50xx on the Dempsey-Core (NetBurst). They are available with 2x2 MB cache too. But the new 4MB cache is shared - so single-threaded apps can use up to 4MB cache...
This site is in german but at the end of the article you can find a comparison table of 50xx and 51xx:

I would definatly go with the new Core 2 architecture.
Here are some comparisons of Woodcrest, Dempsey and Opteron:

...another AMD-Intel test (german):

Yeah, I was thinking about the Core 2 Extreme 6800, but we have the budget for a dual processor (4 core) Xeon 5150.
I don't think the single 6800 can match 2 Xeon 5150s.

Hey, the good thing about being a poor student is that it is only a temporary condition. You will all make it soon....
