Wireframe Rendering?

This isn't really related to Maxwell, but I showed my friend my apartment rendering...

http://www.misterasset.com/maxwell/imag ... framed.jpg

and I told her it was a model I had done. She got confused, thought it was a model unit for an apartment complex that I had photographed so then I had to convince her it wasn't real. I thought it was good, but I never thought it was that good. Anyways, I use 3DS Max so I told it to render a wireframe with the default scanline to show her and I got this...

http://www.misterasset.com/maxwell/images/wireframe.jpg

which was enough to convince her it was computer generated. My question for all you 3DS Max users is how to get a hidden line wireframe. Like a wireframe that doesn't show all the parts of the scene that aren't in the rendering. Thanks.

It happens :D 99% of the people that you see wakling around doesn't spend countless of hours looking at renderings... they will belive that anything that you present to them is real

Infact, sometimes it's hard to convince them it's not real

Here is a conversation I just had after sending a client a Maxwell render of a cuff link.........

"That looks great! We have a meeting Friday, I need to show the sample."

"I don't have a sample, that's just a rendering I emailed you."

"Oh, OK. Well, just send the one you took the picture of."

"Its not a picture, its a computer rendering of the Rhino model."

"OK. FED X can get it to me a day early, if you can send it today."

After a few more iterations, he understand (sorta) what I was talking about. And this is a guy I've sent renderings to for 18 months.
He hopes to get his commerical airline license soon, and quite his sales job.

You could try the mental ray contour shader. It's pretty fast (of course, scene complexity affects that) and it's documented in the User Guide.

I was showing a project being render in Maxwell to an Engineer... I spend a great time explaining him how maxwell works and all that, and he seemed very interested. After a while he asked me so, where is the rendering?

me- :? this is the render!

Eng.- Are you taking me for a fool? that's a picture!... if not? show me the wireframe

me -

he later told me that he though that everything that I was explaining him was stuff that I planning to do to "that picture" :?
