You can do much better than that with Maxwell... Much clearer without the regathering splochiness and a much more natural light....
So don't be jealous.. be gladd

It shouln't...
You set up a studio scene with a bit more light than the necessery and render you could probaly get a frame an hour, there for making this animation about 5 days max...

I don't know how much it took with Vray, I know I can get better results with Maxwell but 5 DAYS!!! So, the only way to make an animation is to leave for holidays?

The scene itself isn't that good. The dynamics is really poor, and the rendering could be so much better using maxwell and some proper lightsetup.
No it's not bad, but still not GOOD.. ok?

I'm not sure if that's so much to be jealous of, honestly tho when i saw this on CGTalk i got alot more jealous. The Russian guy says he used Maxwell Render to render this one with

from cgtalk:
Title: Elephant
Name: Priymuk Sergey
Country: Russia
Software: mental ray
then this:
Sorry, when submitted the image, I didn’t indicate what render was used,
thus the data from "Edit Personal Details" passed to the Gallery. I wanna
correct: that was not MentalRay, that was the MaxwellRender.

Pirated or not these Russians are doing serious world-class work with these images.
(If they didn't say these were renders, I wouldn't know ... they could have posted them in photo.net for all I care.)

Thomas, i agree. those Russians sure can outdo many of us here.. and their artworks kinda makes this whole "beta is better than 1.x" discussion on here look silly
