Ughh, that sucks to hear :( although i know exactly what it's like. My motherboard and graphicscard both died due to overheating with +28C in my room and equally hot outside everyday and the cpu is chewing away day and night on work stuff with poor cooling in the case, that could only end in one way.. *kaboom!* so my new hardware should arrive in the next coming days now. Been using library computers and my neighbours computer for 2 weeks now :/

What kinda hardware have you got which blew up ?

It's the Asus A8N-SLI Premium Motherboard, running 64bit XP/athlonX2 +4800. I got two of these, the other's running fine.........typically, the one that goes is the one with all the 3d software under the sun, not the barebones render-slave......I shall have to reload a whole heap of shit whilst the workstation's in casualty.

Nothing you can do, just have another whiskey.....

I agree with Maximus... It could have been an overheating problem if your processor was under a full load at the time of the crash. Check to see of all of your fans are working. Most motherboards are set to shutdown if (for example) the CPU fan stops working and it starts to overheat.

Cheers michael, I'll certainly check that. :) Appreciate it.

I get a serious bluesceen of death, just because windows thinks Maxwell
is going to burn up my computer.

I'm really stuck here, I get blue screens now, yes BLUE sceen of death.
I crashes because windows "prevents the computer to harm itself". It says
something about the program get stuck in a Loop.
Its a long shot but it could be connected somehow, there might be others
with similar problems

Edit: yes it is good weather here, room temperature at midnight! =)

 love it........

My six months of Maxwell ownership have convinced me that it's a bit of a hooligan........or maybe a Goth at the walls of Rome, take your pick....

I have just recovered from a motherboard failure last week. Cannot put it down do maxwell as I wasn't using it at the time..I was using wireless notebook and lost network access to my cad machine. After trying to reconnect network drive I discovered that the cad machine had tuned itself off. Took it to IT guy and the motherboard was dead. Installed new motherboard and the fun started. Windows no longer rebooted. Repaired windows and explorer was corrupt. Finally had to reformat hard disk and reload all software. Back running normal after a week. Bloody computers...I hate them

Had the carcass open today, you know what it was? Fecking bumblebee got in and died in there........jammed in the cpu fan poor bugger. :( [really must seal up that empty floppy-drive bay].

Anyway, two new ramsticks later and we're flying again, so I'm glad I don't need to re-build the whole thing.
