...if what I heard about Microsoft providing standard onboard software to all cars next year.

I don't know if it's true or an urban myth, but I remember hearing that the US military experimented with a windows-run Submarine. Apparently they eventually needed a couple tugboats to get home after the entire ship 'crashed'

I laughed... and laughed... then my machine crashed...
then I cursed, and cursed...

mmmm... windows... :shock:

I remember hearing a while back that the space shuttles were still using 8088's running Windows 3.11.........

Could just be one of those urban legends though......

Here's a bit about the apollo computer - 74 kb hardwired ROM and 4kb or RAM. Fully multi-tasking. An amazing feat.

It was always going to get dangerous when I designed this for the Blender F1 comp last year:-

Thank god they don't have to give turn signals too, although this would help most of the drivers to stop crashing into each other. ;)
