I wonder how many Maxwell customers will buy this after seeing how customer support has been. I'm going to test out the demo. Looks very cool.

RF4 isn´t what most users expected. Main improvements are python scripting and a new interface. But all the things users were asking for in the forum, e.g. breaking waves or relaxed particle states haven´t been implemented. But there are good things too: It´s stable, fast and the UI is very intuitive, like MR Studio. I think the main target group are VFX studios and those studios are supported by NL.

RF4 introduces a new file format including all physical parameters of a fluid but there´s no support within the plugins. To use this .pd files you have to code your own importer with the SDK. So if you´re not a programmer you cannot use these files.

BTW NL closed the RF forum with the release of the new version without any notice or annnouncement before - just from one minute to the other. Nobody can understand why.

i've played with the demo about 3 minutes now and i have made a square spurting liquid onto a plane and the liquid bouncing back at the camera. pretty damn easy to use and very cool so far.

Thanks for the update, but next time, do a little investigation before you spread misinformation.

Post subject: RealFlow 4 released

Dear friends, after 2 years of intense development we are proud to announce the release of RealFlow version 4. Please check the new web site contents for additional information.

We are designing new customer support tools and procedures. Meanwhile this old forum will remain disabled until further notice.

Thank you for your support and enjoy the new version!

Thank you,
Victor Gonzalez

That´s not misinformation. Victor wrote the message and five minutes later the forum was down. So why did they even closed the RF3 section. There are still many users around with older versions and for them this is (was) one of the few sources of information.

Despite of NL´s intention of reorganizing the customer support it´s not easy to understand why NL closed a grown community without any announcement a couple of days before. But maybe, Tyrone, you can explain it to me?

So that's why there's no NL movement in this forum; they were all working in RF4.

I have no speculation to offer only a correction to why the forum is currently disabled. I also read messages on that forum, so the explanation is satisfactory to me.

I just watched the RealWave video from the new RealFlow 4 site. I think it's safe to say the ship waves calculated by RealFlow have little or no resemblance to real life waves, unfortunatly.
