OS Default (Light/White) ...or... Skinned (Dark/Grey)

There're different opinions about mood of interfaces in terms of their coloring and of course the subject is 3D applications. Which one do you prefer, why, why not? Which one do you think it has the most "professional-look" for a 3D application?

I want another option: Skinned - white/light - custom buttons.

I prefer lighter colors.
Well, maybe you would say I'm with the first option.
But what I want most is being able to change colors.
I'll vote for the first one. Its so alone.
EDIT: ¡Shit! I have already voted and you have just added my option.

All of the above! With options to make your own colorscheme/icons! And I want some pie!
(sorry, feeling a little silly... although, multiple color schemes are great. Personally, I prefer the lighter setups... dark U/Is just make me tiiiirrrreeed.)

Tom if I am correct you like math, if so 3 (option) x 3 = 9???
But my math sucks, so I am probably wrong!
Anyway, my best: skinned (but simple, I don't like cartoonish skin) (dark/grey) - common icons
In the end dark is more relaxing for my eyes.

I don't like to use custom icons because sometimes an application changes and old custom interfaces don't work anymore and you're stuck with the default interface that you're not used to because of the different icons. Therefore I always prefer to use the common icons.
Sometimes I change the layout of a program but because I'm stuck with 1 screen there's limited use to playing around with that.
Dark interfaces are ok but often they also have dark icons, which are imho less easily differentiated from eachother. Therefor I prefer to use the common gray interface.

I personally prefer OS syncron coloring and i like my OS white/light. Common icons should imo be used wherever suitable/possible.
Most apps that have a dark gui make me feel like they're badly integrated (totally subjective of course) and prettymuch send a keep-away message, but thats just me.
One exception worth mentioning is Modo, it's not too dark and has very well ballanced colors and contrasts, i find it very pleasing to use (also in terms of eye strain) and it lacks that 'keep-away' effect when opening it from my bright windows desktop.
I must admit dark greyish GUIs look very pro either way, even if i don't like using 'em.

I think is OK the actual color of Maxwell
For me is perfect
I think dark grey GUI is better for the eyes...

The colors of Maxwell studio are ok, but "el lumbrera" who set black text over dark gray on the Mac version needs to be jailed.
A GUI needs to be a bit more consistent that the current Maxwell one. Mixing serif and sans serif fonts. Please ditch the serif font, they are harder to read on small sizes (I'm talking on the screen, here)

Well, you don't need to worry about Maxwell itself relating to this question.

It's just a user survey...

if maxwell wants to be cutting edge it definitly needs a colouscheme inspired by this:

How easy is it in the 'preferances' to give users control over the colour scheme?
There is the 'mid grey' that forms the bulk of the colour , 'light grey' on the illuminated side of the bevel, 'darkest grey' on the shadow side of the bevel, a 'dark grey' that forms the text recess areas, font colours and that about it. If each of these was available in the 'preferances' you would get 100% satisfaction , Tom .
Looking at the poll it looks like people prefer the darker layout

so I'll have to live with it - its no problem.
