Hi Hervé, indeed, the engine is about 40 kilos and very dirty, I first had to drag it up the stairs and than on my socks put it in the middle of the paper, but I'm glad with the result

Yes, that studio set-up is not that expensive and always cheaper than letting a pro studio do all product shots.
And it's also so much fun to do!!

If I'm correct, i think it's my first post (as so called amateur photograph) in this thread. I just bought a new camera during my last trip to Hong Kong, and i wanted to share with you few pictures i have taken today. I don't know what is it to take a photo with a semi pro camera like a Canon or a Nikon as I have always owned some cheap camera before but the result i get with my new Ricoh GXR make me really satisfy of my purchase.









And another one with some color correction i took two days ago in Hong Kong



If you ask yourself why i have chosen this camera instead of a Canon 500D or a Nikon D90, it's simply because i wanted something easy to handle and carry. And compare with a Panasonic GF1 or an Olympus EP1 i have found the test preview at DPreview looking better in poor lighting condition. The lens (50 mm f2.5) was also good for my needs (product shooting, fair, macro...).

Here in Gothenburg we have what's commonly called a "snowstorm" or chaos because people here down south are not used to large amounts of snow in a short time
so they generally freakout when it happens and the city stops functioning. I'm from the north and used to this so i feel just at home when it's chaotic like this
i had to go downtown today with my cellphone cam and shoot a bunch of pics of the madness, here's some i stitched together into panoramas for you guys to see.
